About The Fit Frontier

The Fit Frontier is a science communication platform dedicated to exploring the frontiers in sports performance, nutrition, and wearable technology. Its purpose is to bridge the gap between scientific research and the general public — aiming to make complex findings accessible to everyone.

The site broadly covers three topics:

Every article on this website is based on recent scientific literature (often just days old!) from peer-reviewed journals and original studies, not from (social) media posts or secondhand reports. The goal is to translate findings from the latest research to the general public, providing insights in areas where science and daily life intersect. Health and fitness are relevant to us all, yet can imply or mean different things depending on who you ask. And even scientists or research findings can sometimes disagree amongst themselves. The Fit Frontier therefore aims to stay neutral and objective, without prescribing what to do or giving advice.

About Me

My name is Peter, nice to meet you! I started The Fit Frontier out of a genuine curiosity about fitness, health and the science behind it. I hold a PhD in physics and have years of experience with (post-)doctoral research that helped me develop skills in evaluating experimental designs, interpreting statistical results, and separating meaningful signals from background noise. Science is definitely a passion of mine that extends beyonds the domain of physics - I love to learn more about the human body, a topic so universal and intriguing, and at the same time so individualistic and complicated! This website is furthermore the first I ever built, a process that I greatly enjoy. So this project is a great place to learn for me - and I hope for you too!

Peter
